What Happens at The National Heirloom Expo?
During the Expo, the fairgrounds’ streets and pavilions are filled with pure foods enthusiasts, talented home gardeners, farmers, garden artists, school groups, and leading thinkers and doers in the pure food movement.
You will have the opportunity for hands-on learning, exploration, conversation, and fun! Expect to come away awed by the magnificence of heirlooms and the genius, creativity, and community they inspire!
Expo is a very kid-friendly event, with a children’s pavilion filled with exhibits and learning activities all about seeds, gardening, and the wonder of the natural world.
The seed swap is also a highlight of the event; everyone is invited to bring seeds to share or swap.
SEED SWAP ALL THREE DAYS!
We will be hosting our seed swap all three days of the Expo this year! Please join us between 3:00 and 6:00 PM for all your swapping needs. Donations are not required but are appreciated and aid in the success of the swap. We prefer to have open-pollinated heirloom varieties. If you are bringing something that is not, please have it clearly marked so our swappers are aware of what they are choosing. If possible, bring your own packages along with pens or markers. Lastly, we would love to have you join us at our space! Extra table space will be available for you to set up your contributions and mingle with fellow swappers!
Here is your checklist:
□ Seeds to contribute
□ Packaging
□ Pens or Markers
HEIRLOOM POULTRY SHOW
Our Poultry Show is not something you want to miss! Bring your rare and fantastic birds to share with fellow enthusiasts.
🔸 Judging takes place all day Tuesday, September 10.
🔸 The birds will remain available for viewing throughout the entire event.
Despite every attempt possible, we are not going to be able to host a Giant Pumpkin Competition this year. We are very sorry to have to share this development with everyone.
